Vivacious, valiant Veronika views two vessels out at sea.
Veronika values vacation voyages when she can get free.
Veronika says, "Lacking vessels, virtual ventures they must be."
I value Veronika's venerable vision. She's safer home with me.
Meanwhile, mindful Mandy mulls her memories of the sea.
Mandy maintains a mind mature, meeting facts methodically.
Mandy murmurs, "Most magnificent, our Mother Earth must be!"
Mandy's mastery of meaningful matter mesmerizes me.
Charlotte shares her shiny shells at the shoreline by the sea.
Shyly, Charlotte shows me how they shimmer shiftingly.
"Should I shelve my shells at home?" our Charlotte asks of me.
"Sure, why not?" say I to her, "I have a shoebox free."
Generally, jovial Jolena joins Jim and Jenny when they're free,
Jumping on the jetty, juggling jellyfish joyfully.
"Gee," she says, "just judge now how they can jiggle jauntily!"
Jubilant Jolena jigs and jogs her jumbled jubilee!
Mariah memorizes masters of maritime poetry.
Our mystifying merry miss makes mermaids want to see.
"Mussels, mantas, mackerel schools, modest manatees,"
"My mates, my magical mentors all," Mariah says, and I agree.
Beach-bound Billy bides a bit before biking to the sea.
Billy begs a borrowed ball from his brother boisterously.
Billy blithely bats the ball, which balances brilliantly.
"I'm a bracing boy beyond all else," bold Billy says to me.
Emil's eager to explore the ever-effervescent sea.
Emil examines every creature's expressions earnestly.
"Electric eels, echinoderms are expounding now," says he.
It isn't ears and eyes, he knows, that let him hear and see.
Pippa perceives a purple porpoise playing in the sea.
Pip pronounces the porpoise pretty, though purple they can't be.
"Why's the playing porpoise purple," Pippa then asks me.
"Purple porpoises are pretty peculiar," I pronounce as I agree.
Pippa looked over Mariah's shoulder, while the older doll was checking the spelling of all the words.
"What's this word?" Pippa asked Mariah when they were done reading The Writer's poem. "I think I can figure out the rest."
"I'll get the dictionary," Mariah suggested with her usual smile that almost wasn't. "You can look it up."
How many of these words do you already know?
Important note to children: This is a made-up poem. It is not safe (for you or for them) to juggle jellyfish. Jolena is only pretending, and so are the jellyfish! While you're looking up words, check out "alliteration."
